Visitor Industry Charity Walk
The 36th annual charity walk is tomorrow, Saturday, May 17. Last year, 2,100 people walked and raised $200,000. The event starts at 7: A.M. at the Historic County Building where all entrants paying a $35 fee will get a t-shirt and breakfast on the lawn. The walk is 2.9 miles long, and, at the end of the walk, more for prepared by well known restaurants. The walk has raised $26M dollars since 1978!! Last year, the proceeds were donated to 46 different organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Easter seals, and Family services. There are prizes for the largest donors: a 40″ LED TV, 2 round-trip tickets to Oahy with a two-nght stay at a hotel, plus more prizes.
