We are very excited to announce that Vicki Sterne, the creator of the Kauai Beach Guide iPhone app, has been invited to speak at the upcoming 2013 State of Hawaii Ocean Safety and Drowning Prevention Conference on Oahu Oct. 17th. She will be speaking about the app, and how technology can help keep beachgoers safe, and is scheduled to speak around 11am.

This is a wonderful recognition of all her hard work from the Hawaii Lifeguard Association, the Hawaii Tourism Authority, and the Hawaii State Department of Health, who are joining together to put on this conference at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. Doors open at 8am for registration and breakfast, the program begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm. The fee is $65 which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. You may register on the day, but if at all possible, please email jhilea@honolulu.gov that you are coming so they know numbers for meals.
