Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park sponsors its 11th annual Earth Day  in Lydgate Park community workday this Saturday. Check-in for volunteers is 7:30 at the Main Pavilion.

Same day, same place, the Family Swim and Run challenge begins at 7: AM with check-in at 6: AM also at the Main Pavilion. For more info, or to register, go to kamalani.org.

Another important Beach event is the new and improved Kauai Beach Guide. You can get it FREE at Google Play for Android; and iTunes for your apple devices. Kauai beach Guide has color-coded pins for which beaches are safest and lifeguarded;  which are okay if you use caution; and which beaches are not good for swimming. The app includes daily ocean and weather reports, GPS, what facilities are at each beach; info about beach safety, and much, much more.
