The Merrie Monarch Festival, started in 1963 on the Island of Hawaii, offers only the best Halaus competing for prizes. You have to be invited to participate!! The Festival is carried live on Channel 5 (KFVE) over three nights, April 24-26. The Schedule:

Thursday 4/24: Miss Aloha Hule. 6:00 P.M. to Midnight

Friday 4/25 Group Hula Kahiko (Ancient Style Dances) Kane and Wahine 6: P.M. to 12:30 A.M.

Saturday 4/26 Group Hula ‘Auna (Modern Style Dances) Kane and Wahine; and all Awards 6: P.M. to 1: A.M.

This is unforgettable, most enjoyable event!
