Celebrate May Day at the County Museum – Music & Lei Contest

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii!!  Visit the 35th annual Imalee and Walter Pomeroy Lei Contest on May 1 at the County Museum. Singer and ukelele player Paula Fuga will perform that day. There will also be food vendors, lei lessons and a silent auction beginning at 9:30 at the Kauai Museum. The following is the schedule:

7:00 – 9:00 AM – adults can drop off their leis at the museum front porch. Awards ceremony 1:00 PM.

9:00 – 3:00 PM Keiki can create leis for the Keiki Lei Contest with judging at 4:00 PM. Children will have one hour to create a lei and must bring their own materials.  No supplies will be provided.

5:00-6:00  PM Paula Fuga concert. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Limited seating.  Tickets available at the Museum.

Besides the contests, there will be a Make-a-Lei tent for anyone who wants to learn how to make basic leis.
